Fritzi
Kleines
Theater Berlin
She
was the absolute queen of German operette in the 1920's -
Fritzi Massary.
Her uncanny ability to coax a double entendre out a seemingly
harmless line was unmatched,
and tickled the sensibilities of a bourgeoisie trying to escape the
prude morals of the pre-WWI era.
This
light-hearted
hit musical review, based on a true story, revives the songs that
made her famous.

The Fight of the
Century
Max
Schmeling and Joe Louis were more than just two boxers. On the brink
of a World War the boxing ring suddenly became a focal point for the
struggle between Faschism and Democracy.
The hopes and fears of millions of people arond the world seemed to
hinged on the two young men. 'The Fight of the Century' weaves
the sounds and rhythms of boxing with the tempo of those turbulent
times.

It's
Raining Roses
Hildegard Knef

At the age of 50 Knef is diagnosed with breast
cancer. Battling a drug addiction, and abandoned by her husband, Knef
confonts her past, and - literally - herself. 'Knef' meets 'Hilde'
-
two women,
one person.
It is the start of
an emotional roller-coaster ride through the night.

Frederick
Hollanders Tingel Tangel
Vaganten
Buehne
Berlin
His
song 'Falling in Love Again' from the film ‚The Blue Angel' had just
made him world famous, but in 1931 composer Friedrick Hollander went
back to his cabaret roots: He founded the 'Tingel Tangel Theater'
in a small Berlin cellar space under the famous Theater des Westens.
In the next two years before the Nazis came to power Hollaender fought
against the brown shirts with his sharp wit and infectious music.
Eighty years later his cabaret characters come back to life and take
us on a haunting journey back into those dark times
